Aqurite (2022)

The self-titled EP ‘Aqurite’ was released in 2022 and immediately received great reactions. It is an introduction to Aqurite, who tries out different styles on this record.

Songs that have been coming for over ten years have been refined and perfected. The beautiful ballad ‘Life’ describes how life is not always kind to you, but that you always keep control. Sometimes you are blown in the other direction, but if you really want to, there is always a way to get back to where you are at home. Then it all starts with ‘Wall’, a nice blues song. The song is enhanced by guitar parts from Peter van der Tor. The song is easy on the ear, but for the attentive listener there is a deeper meaning. ‘Out of the Light’ is a sensitive song, on which the lyrics are accompanied by a piano and a bass guitar. ‘My Way Back Home’ provides a cheerful final note on the record and is a nice sing-along.

Life
I know where I’m goingAnd I hope you can see it tooBeen counting down the daysDon’t be scared to change
Had some time to think it overToo much time to be aloneYou’re waiting for us to be togetherBut there are things that need to be done

Give yourself some time to borrowEnjoy whatever gets you filledAnd don’t you ever give up dreamingOf the life you’re meant to live

For life has strange ways to get you thereWhere you’ve always dreamed to beJust hang on and I will show youIt will forever be you and me
Save yourself, but think of meWhen I’m too far, think of meChase your dreams, but think of meWhen it’s been too long, and you will see

Give yourself some time to borrowEnjoy whatever gets you filledAnd don’t you ever give up dreamingOf the life you’re meant to live
And don’t you ever give up dreamingOf the life you’re meant to live
Well I’ve been goin’ to the riverTo wash my blues awayWell I’ve been goin’ to the riverTo wash my blues awayPut my hands back in my pocketCome back the other day
Baby, baby, babyWon’t you come back to stayBaby, baby, babyWon’t you come back to stayI’ve said it all before, got nothing else to say

Break this wall down and let me inThere’s so much to life I don’t know where to beginGive me a sign, tell me what to doYes all I really want is to be with you

I keep on walking, walking to the seaI keep on walking, walking to the seaAnd I won’t stop walking, until you’re back with me

Boss keeps calling and I got bills to pay
Boss keeps calling and I got bills to payGot to keep on working, working every day

Break this wall down and let me inThere’s so much to life I don’t know where to beginGive me a sign, tell me what to doYes all I really want is to be with you

When I feel like cryingI got to walk some moreWhen I feel like cryingI got to walk some moreWhen my feet start hurtin’You pull me back on the floor

You keep on spinningSpinning ‘round my headYou keep on spinningSpinning ‘round my headIt’s all because of youI lie awake in my bed

Break this wall down and let me inThere’s so much to life I don’t know where to beginGive me a sign, tell me what to doYes all I really want is to be with you
Tie your shoes and close the doorPut on that pretty dressJust relax and get out of the wayDon’t step in the glass

Shattered windshield of broken dreamsThe smell of gasoline and bloodGet your head straight, it’s not what it seemsDid you really think I forgot

And that’s the night your life was blown awayYou knew that you were here to stay

How to catch a butterflyWhen the rain startsAnd you stepped out of the lightSing me another lullabyOf growing upAnd doing what’s rightFor us

Pull him close and let him knowthat you’ll be fineJust some weeks of lonelinessuntil the stars align

Is it love or is it therapyMaybe a bit of bothThe beauty over tragedyOf watering a withered rose

You knew what you signed up forYou could’ve walked awayWithout you, we wouldn’t beWhere we are today

And that’s the night your life was blown awayYou knew that you were here to stay

How to catch a butterflyWhen the rain startsAnd you stepped out of the lightSing me another lullabyOf growing upAnd doing what’s rightFor us

And we all know that it’s better nowWe’ve found ourselves a wayI hope you got yourself together nowYou could’ve walked away
Well I said ‘darling, don’t you worryBecause I know exactly what I’m doing’But I was lyingAnd I think it worked

But the windows are brokenAnd the well is running dryI think I fell asleepIs this a dreamOr am I flyingIn my yellow shirt

And I know that it’s too late nowBut I’m trying to find my way back homeDon’t forget me when the sun setsDon’t you ever leave me here aloneCan’t you see the light is fadingInto darkness where no one went beforeAnd then you see your heroes agingAnd they tell you it’s time to let go

And I think I lost my way thereIt happened once beforeWhere’s the light when you need itI can’t take it anymoreIt feels like mondayThe worst is over now

I know you took my pictureI didn’t look at youIt’s worse than I expectedWhat more can I doI’m tired of fightingBut still around somehow
