A New Day (2024)

An acoustic sound, like Bruce Springsteen on The Ghost of Tom Joad and Gregory Alan Isakov on his earlier work. That was the inspiration for writing the EP A New Day. Songs with a message, but with a very thin musical support. The foundation of the songs are the acoustic guitar and the raw events of life.

This will not be a blistering story about emotions of a singer-songwriter. Aqurite believes that his listeners will find a meaning in the songs he makes and they do not need an explanation for that. The interpretation of lyrics is a personal phenomenon. We ask you to listen to the record and ask yourself which events in your life the songs relate to.

Lyrics

The Game

Turn around nowAnd look me in the eyeI know it’s overBut at least tell me why

Is there anythingMaybe something I can sayThat can find youAnd perhaps make you stay

Look around you at all that we builtAll these pictures of the love that we spilledYou’re gonna miss itI know that I will

What you promised is what I sworeYou closed the window, I opened the door for my heartFor my heart

Let me show youJust one more timeYou were perfect and I was just fineI’m alright

Now I’m standing in the middle of our room and I knowIt will never be the sameI’m hoping you’ll come back home‘Cause I need youTo play the game

Yes it is as they sayThings come by and go awayWhen it’s time
Well I guess, if that is trueI’m gonna hold on tight to youBecause you’re mine

The wind will blow the leaves awayAnd birds will find a place to stayStorm’s coming

The sky turns darks and thunder strikesI feel the rain, nowhere to hideI start running

When all the things you love are goneAnd you start feeling so aloneWithout meThen close your eyes and let it goThink of how I love you soAnd you’ll seeThat everything is just the sameAnd it will never change againI’m on my way

For all the cold and lonely nightsThat I wasn’t by your sideI feel so blue

And every day you are aloneWhen I’m far away from homeI long for you

It’s raining but the sky is clearI can see the stars from hereAnd the moon’s bright

I feel your touch in the falling rainHear your whisper in the blowing
wind and it feels right

When all the things you love are goneAnd you start feeling so aloneWithout meThen close your eyes and let it goThink of how I love you soAnd you’ll seeThat everything is just the sameAnd it will never change againI’m on my way

Open your eyes, boyThe day has begunHolding my fingerAnd singing along

My little manFlashing your smilePlease never changeAnd stop growing for a while

What was my life beforeI don’t even knowYou gave me so much moreThe first time you showed me that I’m not alone

New to this worldSo deep in my heartAnd when I’m not homeI won’t be far

You got my hair andYou got mommy’s eyesQuietly watchingHow the time flies

What was my life beforeI don’t even knowYou gave me so much moreThe first time you showed me that I’m not alone

And when you grow upI know I’ll be proudBut there is a chance thatI won’t be aroundJust know that I love youIt’s all I can do

My little manI’ll be there for you

My little manI’ll be there for you

It’s the middle of the night and I’m still awakeI don’t know how much more I can takeIs this really you or am I reading it all wrongWe got to jump the hoops one by one

And I always thought thatYou gotta lay low when hoping for better daysStay for a whileWe almost had itIt’s such a shame

Where did we goDid we miss a turnI think that both of us got tiredWell, at least we learnedCan you tell me again how I came running overFrom between the linesI fell flat on my faceGotta rest nowBut I’m still awake

Were you so aloneIs this what you earnedDid we throw the pictures in and watch them all burnDid we drink it all and walk awayIs there anything left for us to say

And I always thought thatYou gotta lay low when hoping for better daysStay for a whileWe almost had itIt’s such a shame

Where did we goDid we miss a turnI think that both of us were tiredWell, at least we learnedCan you tell me again how I came running overFrom between the linesI fell flat on my faceGotta rest nowBut I’m still awake

The house is emptyAnd the bed is coldNobody listens to my songsI’ll try to write another oneBut this one’s just as sad

The bread is goneAnd the milk has spoiledI gotta get out there in the coldBuy myself some love to holdFeels like losing a friend

Today is the day I let the darkness inLonely eyes can see through walls of shameIt’s too late to thank my enemyI know the words but I forgot my nameForgot my name

It’s getting late, let’s go to bedThis is my last cigaretteWrite it down so I won’t forgetAnd all the lies you’ve told

Shadows in the light of dayAre faster than my friend and me‘Round the corner we’ll find some timeWe’re getting old

Today is the day I let the darkness inLonely eyes can see through walls of shameIt’s too late to thank my enemyI know the words but I forgot my nameForgot my name
